Install Docker Compose on Ubuntu Server

Recommended: Compose plugin (v2)

If you installed Docker from the official repository, just:

sudo apt-get install -y docker-compose-plugin
docker compose version

Note it's docker compose (with a space).

Standalone binary (for old scripts that call docker-compose)

Check the latest version on GitHub releases and replace it in the URL:

sudo curl -SL "https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/v2.33.0/docker-compose-linux-$(uname -m)" -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
docker-compose --version

Related: install Docker Engine.
